Snapshot Millionaire aims to be the world’s richest photo contest… open only to Amateurs.
The First Prize contestant funded target of $1 Million USD is offered exclusively to Enthusiasts, Instagrammers, Facebookers, Snappers and Shutterbugs around the world. Entry Fees start at $2 USD per photo with multiple entry discounts across 16 Categories.

The entry fees will fund an expected total prize pool of $1.1 Million dollars. With more than 400 million photos uploaded and shared on Social Media every day, Snapshot Millionaire offers people around the globe another reason to share their skills and passion. So here’s your chance to win big and take part in the most amazing photo contest the world has ever seen!

Snapshot Millionaire opens September 1st and the closing date will be announced once the prize pool approaches our target.


Snapshot Millionaire is a skills based competition hosted on this Website. It’s open to anyone who has reached legal age in their jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry (usually age 18). Anyone under this age will need the written consent of their parent or guardian and comply with all relevant terms and conditions of the contest. The term ‘amateur’ defines anyone who earns less than $20,000 USD per year from their photographic endeavors or their primary income is NOT derived from photography. All photos submitted – color, black and white or mild HDR – must be in digital format. Only minor cropping, burning, dodging, sharpening and color correction will be accepted.

Entries to any of our 16 categories must be sent as JPEG files only and uploaded via our mobile APP or through our competition Entry Form on this website. JPEG attachments should not exceed 5MB. Entries via our Mobile APP will be automatically compressed. Each entry must be an original photograph created in any year by the person named as the Entrant. Proof of eligibility as an amateur may be required prior to the payment of prizes.

When you enter the competition your photos could also earn you money. Every contestant submitting photos to Snapshot Millionaire has the chance of selling their photos through our consumer friendly stock photo agency www.snapshotvault.com

A generous and industry leading sales commission is planned. Unlike many other photo contest you retain the 'copyright' of your prized images. All Snapshot Millionaire Pty Ltd requires is the exclusive marketing and publishing rights in order to judge and publish your images or promote them 'for sale' through www.snapshotvault.com

If you choose to have your contest photos available for sale there will be a small yearly storage and marketing fee after June 30th, 2018. Until then entry is free.

You will receive a special invitation during 'Season One' to join snapshotvault.com to enjoy a full membership, newsletters etc as from July 1st, 2018.

Lead Judge - ADAM MONK

Multi-Award winner and highly acclaimed Australian Photographer Adam Monk is the 2017 Lead Judge for Snapshot Millionaire. Mainly known for his outstanding landscapes both at home and abroad, Adam has an intimate knowledge of all forms of photography. His passion started at the age of 12 where he immersed himself into the mysteries of the darkroom. With the realization that photography was his love, he blossomed into becoming one of Australia’s leading landscape exponents. As a fully fledged Professional, Adam is based in Fremantle, Western Australia and conducts workshops on all aspects of photography. His photography tours are legendary. In recent years he has taken fellow enthusiasts to the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, Greece, Brazil, Cambodia, Greenland, Iceland, Vietnam and next year Adam will lead a party to Japan. Naturally, the wonders of Western Australia figure prominently in Adam’s large body of work.


Mike Gluss has worked as a commercial photographer in Montreal, Toronto, New York, London and Vancouver. His list of clients have included Ford, Fiat, Vidal Sassoon, Tanqueray Gin, Vogue (L’Oreal Products, Paris, Jamaica campaign), Homemakers Magazine, Canadian Living Magazine, Western Interior & Design Magazine(USA), Country Inns Magazine(USA), Elle Magazine (Paris) and Canadian Geographic Magazine. Mike was the founder of the Western Academy of Photography in Victoria BC in 1984-89. Although based on Saltspring Island, BC, much of his recent work now includes images of Mexico. “The art of photography for me is simply not just taking a picture but making a picture. It’s really all about training the mind and eye to look at light, shadows and content.”

Iurie Belegurschi is a renowned landscape photographer based in Iceland and the founder of Iceland Photo Tours. Born in Moldova, Iurie remembers first taking pictures with an old Russian camera, the start of his enduring passion. He moved to Iceland in 2006 drawn by the incredible light and landscapes. His images have received critical acclaim and have won many international photo competitions. In 2012, Iurie founded Iceland Photo Tours and now with a team of professional photo guides, they share the country’s many wonders with passionate photographers from around the world. Iceland Photo Tours is the largest operator of its kind in Europe and is expanding to other spectacular destinations. Iurie is co-founder of Guide to Iceland, the largest marketplace of travel services to the land of ice and fire.

Ariana Lindquist has won many of photojournalism’s top honors and is an acclaimed social documentary photographer. Her work too in capturing global culinary culture has led to her comment how the simple act of sharing a meal brings people together regardless of faith, background or politics. Ariana first traveled to China in 2005 on a Fulbright grant for documentary photography. She lived with Chinese farmers and Tibetan nomads, climbed the vertiginous peaks of Hua Shan to stay in a hidden Daoist retreat and crisscrossed the country by bus, train and “loaf of bread” vans. After the Fulbright she stayed on, documenting for six years the changes sweeping the country for international publications, including The New York Times, TIME magazine, and The Atlantic among others.

DAVID RENNIE – Australia
David Rennie is an internationally recognised Wildlife Photographer. He was the inaugural Australian Geographic Anzang Nature Photographer of the Year and a 2 x Spider Fellow (Hon). When not taking photos, David is a passionate environmentalist fighting to save our dwindling wetlands . His story – “An Unnatural History” – was featured on ABC TV’s Australia Story. David lives in Pinjarra, Western Australia and is also an Aboriginal Advocate, Ambassador for Peel-Harvey Catchment Council and Ramsar 482 and is the Official Photographer and Ambassador for FISH. For the past 3 years he has been the Photographer for Jawun, documenting the work being done by key people in different Aboriginal communities all over Australia.

Janie Airey is a London based photographer shooting nationally and internationally for a variety of architectural practices, design agencies and direct corporate clients. She has been shooting commercially for 18 years – specifically architecture and interiors since 2012. This followed from a commission by the ODA (Olympic Delivery Authority) to capture some of the breathtaking Olympic venues specially designed for the London 2012 games. “You have to enjoy and love what you shoot”, says Janie. “For me getting the rare chance to appreciate the silence and sheer scale in modern grand architecture before the buildings are ‘lived in’ is a privilege. It is the opportunity to capture the clean lines and form plus great light before the space is filled up with people and objects.”

Fabrice Fouillet is a French professional photographer based in Paris. He first studied sociology and ethnology, then photography at the Gobelins school in Paris. Fabrice specializes in still life photography and takes part in group exhibitions and international photography festivals. Another important part of his photography is architecture and in 2013 his series on new places of worship entitled “Corpus Christi” won the Sony Awards Architecture category. Fabrice now collaborates with architects world wide. His personal projects aim to explore the notion of social identity and the close relationship of humans with their environment. “In my opinion, a good picture has to be the meeting between light and composition and being in the right place at the right time.”

Nadia Dias works as a freelance photographer in Goa. Her passion is landscape and travel photography and she was runner up in the 2015 Sony world photography awards in the travel category for her series entitled ‘Colors of the Slums’. “I don’t really photograph subjects” she says. I rather try and photograph the way they make me feel.” Nadia pursued her Masters Degree in professional photography in Paris. After working as a wedding stylist for 4 years, she decided to pursue her love of “taking pictures”. Nadia is passionate about illustrative and artistic photography and longs to be one day described as someone with a passion to tell a colorful story. At home she loves taking portraits and also works with real estate companies in Goa to help fund her love of travel and landscapes.

Jason Michael Lang is currently ranked as one of the world’s top 25 travel photographers. He grew up in Stockton, California, in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley and received his BFA in Still Photography & Digital Media in 1996. For the past two decades Jason has been traversing the globe from his Bangkok base to capture some of the world’s most interesting people and exotic destinations. His work, a cinematic twist on classic reportage, features regularly in the pages of Saveur, Monocle, Conde Nast Traveller, AFAR, and GQ Britain. His published books and unique photographs have won critical acclaim. His latest editorial assignments have taken him to Azerbaijan and Sri Lanka documenting each country’s unique cuisine and most celebrated chefs.


The Initial Evaluation Judges in Australia are required to view all photos submitted to the competition and will select 100 finalists in each of the sixteen Categories. These short-listed 1,600 photographs will be sent to our International panel of 8 Professional Photographers. Each Judge will receive two categories and select their TOP TEN photos in each category in no particular order. Lead Judge Adam Monk will determine the 16 Category Winners one of which will be the ultimate Snapshot Millionaire Grand Prize winner. All the decisions by the judges are final. No correspondence will be entered into either prior to or after the final announcements and the publishing of the winning entries. Entries will be judged on Originality, Composition, Technical Excellence, Artistic Merit, Style, Creativity, Overall Impact – the WOW FACTOR – and the ability of the photo to tell a story. Chance plays no part in the selection process. Snapshot Millionaire is a skills based competition open to amateurs only.
